About the role:

  • As the Sustainability Supervisor, you’ll lead efforts to implement the Sustainable Santa Fe 25-Year Plan, coordinating initiatives across city departments to drive climate mitigation, ecological resilience, cleaner transportation, energy efficiency, and more. You’ll supervise a passionate team and engage with internal and external stakeholders to build a more sustainable and equitable Santa Fe.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Lead sustainability initiatives citywide across operations and the community
  • Oversee implementation and evaluation of programs that support carbon neutrality and resilience
  • Engage in policy development and strategic planning across environmental, social, and economic domains
  • Collaborate with city staff, elected officials, community partners, and national networks
  • Supervise sustainability personnel, develop team goals, and manage project outcomes
  • Represent Santa Fe in external meetings, regional sustainability efforts, and public outreach

Who we’re looking for:

  • A sustainability champion with at least 5 years of relevant experience, including in program management or policy development
  • A strong communicator and systems thinker, able to lead cross-sector collaboration
  • Bachelor’s degree in sustainability, environmental science, planning, public administration, or a related field
  • A team-oriented leader with one or more years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Familiarity with urban sustainability, equity frameworks, climate adaptation, and environmental justice
