Water Meter Roll-out: The City of Santa Fe, along with Badger Meter, Inc.® recently kicked off its new water metering installation project. PMI, a contractor under the City’s direct supervision, is installing meters across the city. Utility customers can expect to access the new system by the first quarter of 2016. All PMI contractors will have badges and white vans marked with their company logo. If you have questions or concerns, contact PMI at 866.965.0657 or visit www.prometers.com. The new system will allow the City to efficiently manage the water system, giving customers the ability to take control of their water use and save them money on their water bill. Additionally, this effort will improve the Utility’s billing system, resulting in fewer mistakes and improved customer service.
Keep Tabs on Water Use: Badger Meter’s BEACON Advanced Metering Analytics (AMA) provides tools for customers to keep tabs on water use. Utility customers will be able to see their daily water use and receive notifications to address trouble spots. The new system will have features that allow customers to receive text alerts for potential leaks, monitor daily water use, and understand water consumption patterns.
Ongoing Commitment: Santa Fe is a national leader in water conservation. These tools, along with the community’s ongoing commitment to a waterwise lifestyle, will keep us on the right track. Once your new meter is installed, be sure to take advantage of Badger Meter® BEACON online tools and mobile apps. Customers can begin accessing the new system during the first quarter of 2016. For questions or assistance with app installation, contact the Water Conservation Office at 505-955-4225.
